Tips for Planning Your Engagement at the Knob

Jen & Drew kicked off their engagement at one of the most lovey natural jewels of Cape Cod. Tucked away between Falmouth's Main Street and Woods Hole, the Salt Pond Sanctuaries has maintained a unique nature preserve featuring a .8 mile out and back trail. Drew knew this was the perfect spot to pop the question. So after a short walk down the path, he persuade his future fiancé to look out to the water and when she turned around he was down on one knee. She was genuinely surprised. Now the best is yet to come! Congratulations, Drew and Jen!

There's many reasons why the Knob is one of the most popular engagement spots on Cape, there's a variety of a landscapes including sandy beaches, rocky coastline and woodsy trails. Couples will receive photos with many different backdrops from one small picturesque area. Upon arrival to the Knob, you'll encounter the incredibly quaint Quissett Harbor speckled with sail boats and pleasure vessels. The docks are filled with dinghies which makes for a lovely quintessentially Cape Cod scene. The walking path will split in two directions, if you go the left, you'll enjoy a more rustic walk through trees along the Harbor Cliff Trail and the main path to the right is more of an "express route" to the boulder-lined causeway that leads to the Knob itself. The Knob lookout is a round rock formation with panoramic views of Quissett Harbor and Buzzard's Bay. There's a granite bench dedicated to Cornelia Carey, who donated the land for public use, which is a perfect spot to have a seat and take in all the beauty that this one-of-a-kind conservation area has to offer.
